Nu Bop is Matthew Shipp's second release which follows his 2002 first studio album produced by "Thirsty Ear". One of the leading figures on the contemporary jazz scene, the pianist's open approach is fully explored as he crosses free jazz boundaries with quasi-electro funk dynamics.
