I don't know about the fish hook part, but the conical shape is great for touching up serrated blades. I bought 2 so I could have 1 in my truck and 1 in my desk. If I lost one I'd buy it again. BB

I think this is the best sharpening tool that I have ever invested in. It's so compact that I can carry it in my jacket pocket. Works great on straight edge blades just as a minor clean up too.
