This is a very unique shoe. I am a runner and have run between 25 to 65 miles a week for the past 15 years and I have never come across a shoe like this before. This is important to state because I can see some use cases of someone absolutely hating the shoe, but I really love it. First I am a trail runner and live in the PNW in the mountains with lots of rain. the shoe is water proof, tested and works great! But that means that the shoe is sort of plasticy, really good looking though doesnt look cheap, looks sleek and keeps MUCH cleaner than any other running shoe I've ever had. The shoe was a little stiff though at first. I had to break it in but only took about 25 miles. the sole has excellent cushion but still thin enough to not feel clunky or get in the way on rocky terrain. There are plastic spikes for traction on the bottom of the shoe, not as big as cleats but definitely noticeable. I slipped once on a giant slick wet rock, before I had broken the shoe in and worn the bottom down just a touch. I haven't run on wet pavement but i could see it not being the best shoe for pavement in a rainy climate. I ran on dry pavement and was very comfortable because again the cushion in the shoe is perfect.
Before i broke in the shoe, i was a little nervous that I'd twist my ankle on the trails because of how stiff it was at first. I have to be very light and nimble on the trails I run, they're very rocky and covered in leaves and if you dont run often enough to break in the shoe, I could see these not being a good fit.
so to summarize- this shoe is amazing if you are a seasoned runner, like a lot of cushion but cant handle clunky, have the patience to break in a shoe and be cautious while doing it, live in a dry climate or stick to trails in a wet one, and if you are used to destroying a running shoe after a week on the trails you will be anamoured by this one as it just wipes clean and looks brand new even after stomping in puddles for an hour! Hope this analysis helps!
