OXO Slotted Spoon

These OXO utensils are great. They're made with silicone and safe for heat, cooking, food, etc. I replaced all of my older black utensils (about 20 years old) after I read an article from the FDA that said that older black utensils contained contaminates that were not safe for use with food. Why did it take the FDA 20 years to make that determiation? My only complaint is that now I'll need to purchase a new utensil holder as my old one doesn't fit all of my new OXO utensils as they're a little thicker than my old black utensils.
