I have a degree in Nutritional Dietetics with a minor in Sports Medicine. These are something to use anytime you may stress your ankles/feet, and for support if you've already sustained an ankle injury. Can be used for sleep if you wake up with excessive foot pain - use compression low-cut socks while sleeping you're just a bit uncomfortable when you wake.
