Discovery Gemstone Dig, STEM, Natural Science Kit, 6+

I would like to start out with that I was impressed with the discovery gemstone dig. I will say that my daughter absolutely loved this. When we opened the box we had 1 pair of kids goggles, 1 wooden mallet, 1 wooden chisel. 1 ceramic streak plate ( used to rub the stones on to it to determine the color of the stones in powder form.) the kit also comes with 1 magnifying glass, 1 small paint brush ( to dust of the stones). Then as my daughter would put it save the best for last.. The kit came with 1 gem and dig brick. ( It felt like a clay plaster brick, very easy to break as an adult and yes the brick did have 11 gemstones inside.) The kit also comes with pretty easy reading instructions and tip's. Also a really cool poster about gem stones. But I do recommend having a lid to a box and then letting the children chisel at it for easier pick up and clean up. Defenitly worth the $12.97

My grandkids loved this item. The gemstones were nice and polished. The kit contains everything needed to extract the gemstones including pick and hammer and safty goggles. It does take awhile for the kids to get the gemstones out of the clay brick so it keeps them busy for awhile. My 5 year old was having trouble so i had to break the brick with a hammer and give her the peices.
