I chose to receive this beach anchor to review due to currently not having an anchor for our beach umbrella. The last time we were at the beach, we used our umbrella with no anchor and the brisk ocean breeze caught it and it became a dangerous projectile! Luckily, the lifeguard was walking past and caught it before anyone was hurt by it. This anchor looks very sturdy. I would describe it as being made of a very hard plastic. It's got the typical corkscrew design to keep it in place and then the hole where the umbrella sits has a tightening screw to keep the umbrella securely in the anchor. Unfortunately, it is winter here in Pennsylvania, so I am anxiously awaiting the time when I can get to the beach to try this out. An anchor is very necessary if you have a beach umbrella and this one seems like a very good-quality anchor. I would highly recommend this anchor.
