I just purchased this alarm clock for my son who is a very hard sleeper. We have tried it and it works great to wake him up. It is very loud and also has vibration that will wake the hardest of sleepers. The display is very bright. Would definitely recommend.

This is a perfect alarm for a deaf person.

My Mom has had two previous Sonic Boom alarms, with the jumping pod connected to the Analog clock that also has a loud alarm and lights. The jumping pod has quit twice now so I replaced the system with the SONIC ALERT, the all in one pod you clip to your pillow case. It was $21., compared to the $40. clock, and works great. I set the clock and marked the buttons different colors with permanent markers for my Mom. She needs to be able to change the alarm time, herself. I retyped the directions in clearer language and a bigger font. Be very careful of the AM and PM, as that was my most common error in setting the alarm for my test run. IT WORKS GREAT and she has started getting up again in the mornings, especially when she needs to go someplace. She only uses the jumping pod. I inherited her second clock I replaced and it sounds like a space ship landing in my yard and will positively wake me up.

I am hearing impaired and travelling alone for the first time. I needed something that vibrates to wake me up. This has the option to use sound, vibration, or both. The vibration was pretty strong. Comes with a little travel case and batteries. It also has a little clip so you can clip to sheets or pillow. Very easy to use.
