The Windmill Palm Tree is one of the most cold-tolerant of the palm tree varieties and can grow as far north as Tennessee and Virginia! The Windmill Palm has lush, green fronds that fan out from the branches and have long oblong leaves. Your Windmill Palm’s fronds may lose their green color in the winter. The Windmill Palm has a growth rate of about 8 inches a year but will reach up to about 25-30 feet tall at maturity. Higher up the trunk of the tree, near the hairy black fibers from old leaf sheaths, you’ll see your exotic tree produce yellow bushy, cascading flowers on both male and female plants. The Windmill Palm is perfect for planting around the pool, in your front yard, or for bringing some paradise to your back yard!
