Faeries are magical, capricious and changeable. But we should also keep reminding ourselves that they are not human. Even when they choose to present themselves this way to us. They are not bound by any of the rules that our society expects. For instance, they do not have a culture of owning things. In their world, they simply reach out and take whatever they need. So why are we surprised when they do it here? If they see something they like or need, ownership would never occur to them. So next time you have something vanish, you will have a good idea who has taken it. It can work the other way too, a friend of mine once found a really beautiful necklace in her jewellery box. She had never seen it before. Going through all the possible options of how it could have gotten there she admited defeat. No human hands could have possibly have put it there. She felt very guilty though that a woman somewhere in the world, was frantically looking for it.
If we are ever to co-exist together then we need to understand each other better. Is if fair that we call them thieves for example when in their world such a word or act does not exist? Can they be labelled as evil, again such a concept does not exist for them ? What they are is reactive, they see something and if they want it then they will take it. Its their culture.Yes sometimes they can show a sense of humour that we think cruel. When we are running late and cant find our car keys. They will find this hilarious because they will actually be right under our nose, hidden in full view springs to mind.
If you decide that you do want to know these beings or have them in your life, then the first step to a harmonious future, is to get to know them .
