This is a beautiful way of storing my many different types of kitchen knives. It's amazingly heavy and therefore very stable, won't tip over. It also has rubber feet which will help with needed stability. The magnet is incredibly strong, holds even my monster sized knife. And it's large enough to hold 15 knives - yep, I have 16 knives holding well and good until I need one. As I plan on never needing to replace it, I gave it a rub-down with a good foodgrade oil (specifically made for wood used in the kitchen, around food). Doing this often will preserve its beauty and usefulness. And yes - beauty. Things in the kitchen can be useful and beautiful. I plan on enjoying this knive "harbor" for a long time, it actually matches my new cutting board. There is one thing though 🫤 - to my great surprise and disappointment - my favorite and most used knife is a CERAMIC knive, and yeah (well no 🤔 actually), not magnetic! Darn, so my most used knife is kind of homeless now 😮‍💨. I have yet to 🤔... find a good restingplace for it. So far I'm still looking. The base of the stand is not wide enough to rest any knife, it's not a good idea anyway. Would I have purchased a knife stand/garage like this if I had known that my fav knife won't be able to use it? I'd say most likely not. Its beauty and uniqueness is what drew me into purchasing it first off, needing a knife-holder was second. 😉 Things to consider before purchasing a knife-stand like this: You will want a knife stand which will hold all your knives. Check over your knives for any unusual ones , like my ceramic knife. Then, you also will want to make sure you have the necessary space for it. Here are measurements which should help you: 10" long, 15" high and has a base of 4"X 11" base. The 15" hight includes the knife handles which stick out above the stand. I didn't consider any of this before I made my purchase.🙃 My kitchen is very, very small, it's why I finally decided on making some changes, hoping for gaining a little more room. My kitchen cabinet above my workspace, and now above the knife stand, is very tight sliding a knife out. You need to take into account the room between it and the cabinet allowing for pulling a knife up and out (maneuverability). For me it's very tight for best way to draw the knives out/off of the stand - it's a powerful magnet. You have to consider that if you are planning on having it under your cabinets. This is something I hadn't even thought of. So measure before purchasing, saving yourself the trouble of having to make a return. My expectations of gaining some needed space turned into more thinking and rethinking. It is a beautiful piece though and beauty in the kitchen can make me smile. I'm keeping mine, as my old knifeholder has outlived it's usefulness. This is a very clean/sanitary way of keeping the knives in a place where that is most important.
