WD21X10490

This is the 3rd time I'm ordering/replacing this part. The dishwasher worked great the 1st 4 years then the latch stopped working and had to replace around the start of the 5th year. A few months later it failed again, ordered, replaced and here we are about 3 months later and I have to order and replace again. That's 3 times in 2021 and it's only September. I use my dishwasher almost everyday, now I'm going to have to save to buy a new one as I really don't want to replace the same part multiple times a year. I have all GE appliances but 5 years doesn't seem to be a long enough time for a major appliance to start having this many issues.

Another Statistic

I have replaced this twice and had my dishwasher repaired several times. The dishwasher works well when it works; however, it seems like the device is inoperable more than it is working.

Dishwasher Door Latch Failure

I recently paid for an appliance repair person to replace the door latch switch on this dishwasher only to find that the "Genuine GE Replacement Part" also didn't work. Now, I have to purchase another door latch switch and hope for the best--this is a known very high failure item and should be recalled or replaced for free!! I have an entire kitchen suite of GE appliances and this four-year old dishwasher hasn't worked for a month.
