Water Pressure gauge works!

Not the highest quality instrument, but built with copper connections and a gauge that is accurate if somewhat delicate. This is being used to check water pressure for a DIY'er. The only reason I'm not using my previous water pressure gauge is it sat in my toolbox for forty years and during that time I lent it out and can't remember who I lent it to LOL! This one won't be lent out except with a hostage $20 bill :)

No Plumber Needed to Test

After watching many Home Inspection videos, keeping track of your water pressure is necessary, be it high or low. All you do is screw it on a threaded spigot, like the outside ones for a garden hose, turn the water on and wha-la, there's your water pressure reading! Over 80 psi is considered high. Your move to call a plumber after that.

Pressure spike detector!

I have been experiencing water pressure surges at my home. So, I bought this gauge to check. It has a moveable red needle to record the highest pressure. It seems to work well, however the red needle moves very easily, so I'm not sure if it is "thrown" higher when the pressure spikes. I have not been able to actually watch the gauge as a spike is happening. But, overall it is showing me that my water pressure is definitley having pressure spikes. Normal pressure is about 45-55 psi. Gauge is showing spikes as much as 155 psi. Too much!
