Similar to the yellow Hutzler Onion Saver I purchased years ago from Kitchen and Co., this red version opens and closes effortlessly, helps preserve cut onions, eliminates onion odors in my refrigerator, is good looking and well designed. For those that use both red and yellow onions, I highly recommend purchasing both savers as they are easier to spot in the refrigerator and long lasting with reasonable care . I use onion %26 garlic- in just about everything. Using onion - you often do not use the entire item. This onion keeper - will prevent the smell from entering other foods - yet will keep your product fresh. This actually is my second one. I accidentally broke the first one by dropping it. Will "always" have this on hand.

I already had the yellow one for yellow onions and like it. So, now I have the red one for red onions. you can store the onion whole, sliced, or diced. It eliminates searching around for the onion on picnics and camping trips. It has a nice lock tight feature, so it's not going to open until you open it.
