Similar to the yellow Hutzler Onion Saver I purchased years ago from Kitchen and Co., this red version opens and closes effortlessly, helps preserve cut onions, eliminates onion odors in my refrigerator, is good looking and well designed. For those that use both red and yellow onions, I highly recommend purchasing both savers as they are easier to spot in the refrigerator and long lasting with reasonable care . I already had the yellow one for yellow onions and like it. So, now I have the red one for red onions. you can store the onion whole, sliced, or diced. It eliminates searching around for the onion on picnics and camping trips. It has a nice lock tight feature, so it's not going to open until you open it.

It's a plastic onion to keep your cut onions fresh in. What can I say? It does what it's supposed to do. The plastic feels cheap and it makes it a little difficult to open, but it's fine.
