Every home library should have a copy of the James Moffatt bible. Mr. Moffatt provides a modern, easy to understand translation of the word of GOD. While he has been labeled a heretic by some, he understood ( he died in 1944) the bibles original languages , Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic.This is important if you wish to understand the nuances of what was truly meant. The word of GOD is truth and only truth. Be forewarned, Mr. Moffatt's translation tells it like it is , in our own language.
