Cheaply made

I have a Hotpoint dryer. The timer dial failed within 18 months. I bought a replacement part and installed it myself and it failed within a month. The assembly strips and fails. I had read on the internet that Hotpoint parts are poorly made, it seems to be true. I'll buy another brand of dryer if I can't swap this part out and keep the dryer going.
