If you swear by incandescent bulbs, and will do everything you can to avoid LED -- this is the bulb for you. I have been using it for three weeks now, and it hasn't burned out or shown any signs of wear. The outer package says it is incandescent. The bulb has four diamond-shaped filaments, all glowing brightly when turned on. The bulb emits heat. The price is very reasonable. OF NOTE: LED bulbs flicker. We may not be able to see the flicker, but the birds do. I recently purchased two different brands of LED Avian Bulbs (for birds) that promised to be flicker-free. Birds can see flicker way before we do. They are very expensive, lasts just long enough to be out of warranty (30 days) -- they sent my poor African Grey parrot into 3 grand mal seizures before I figured it out. I heard that the US poultry farms are having a really tough time, too, because the hens are behaving erratically. Good luck, everyone!
