Why I like this cold frame...

I like this cold frame because it cannot rust or rot. it was easy to assemble and I'm not at all mechanically inclined, and I could do it. I like that it's little green things lock the lid closed and lock it open also. it is light weight and easy to move. it is deep enough for me to set larger things in it or allow things to grow a bit more before moving it. The price seems fair for the value. I can't make something as good as this, I couldn't work aluminum or plastic as well as they've done, even if I were a handyman. It is light weight, so I have it set strategically where it can get the daylight but set so the side of a building blocks the wind from catching the lid and blowing away the whole cold frame. I have dug and set it 4 inches deep in the ground, keeping cold air from getting under any of the edges. That also keeps it solidly where I put it. it heats 4 inches of the soil to cold frame temperature also. it is close to my house so I can set a seed heat mat inside plugged into my outdoor electric socket. This also allows me a place to set my little seedling trays. Being nearly 6 feet long gives me plenty of space to do a few things rather than just one thing. I can plant a row of onions in December, and still set 3 trays of various cole crops in January and a row of radishes so I have radishes in 28 days while my onions are still growing and my cole crops are still making. I love doing my greenhouse gardening outside rather than give up my indoor space to it. I can do all this and still have a place to put my cool weather tomato plants in the frame in march. I love how roomy this thing is!!!! I've had one like this for a couple years now and it's great!!!!
