In our county, there are garbage/recycle centers. They don't accept paint to dispose in the dumpsters. Since most of the cans of paint were nearly full, it would have taken a very long time to dry a canfull to dispose properly. Most of the nearly full paint cans took two envelopes, probably could use more. As you stir it into the paint, it creates a rubbery cottage cheese consistency. It definitely keeps it from spilling. I left the cans outside uncovered for several days. It doesn't make a complete dried-out paint consistency, but it was enough for me that I was not spilling paint into the disposal dumpsters. The solidified paint product remained in the can even when placed on its side.
