Poor Instructions, nice product

Everything is all good with it on my American Standard bathtub. I must complain about the directions for installation. The instructions appear to be written by a non-human. The instructions gave dimensions for cutting the overflow pipe length for every bathtub on the market except American Standard bathtubs. So, the drain was produced before my Princeton bathtub was produced? But, yo, ya think these wealthy corporation would update there product line to meet the needs of their customers? And, yep, I cannot afford to pay a contractor 10K to replace my old tub. I could give more complaints about the instructions.

Needs better design

First I had to replace the set screw which holds the handle with an allen head 1 inch machine screw (SS) so I could find the screw to remove the handle easily. But the main problem is hair wrapping around the spring. The assembly needs to be removed every 2 months to clean the hair and stuff collected on the spring. A nasty chore and a pain in the neck to remove the assembly that often. The aesthetics are nice and operation smooth but the regular cleaning more than offsets the value of this bath drain.

Drain sealant is not the best.

The drain looks good as designed but it is not functional. It has a slow leak and your water leaves the tub while bathing.
