We tried every trap, at least so we thought, and nothing worked. The mice were figuring out how to even eat through some traps we purchased and it was getting frustrating. We found the DoomBox and debated the cost. After two more other traps were destroyed, plus whatever else the mice were getting into (including a lot of plants, the baking cabinet, the Jeep, and the linen closet!) we knew we were just wasting money, anyway. These took a bit to come in but once they arrived, we set one and a mouse was caught within the first hour. HIGHLY recommend (probably not for pack rats, though - just mice). Thinking of getting more not to throw them away each time (too costly for that) but to put pretty much in every building and vehicle here.

I have used other snap traps and glue boards. They have worked well. Somehow the mice can wiggle their way around with the smaller glue traps or get off completely just leaving their fur (this only happened once). Some may feel that the glue boards are inhumane. True but with the damage that the mice have done to my home, furniture and plants I have lost my compassion for them. I too have had other snap traps that these cagey little mice have been able to eat the bait without getting caught. I even had one mouse that drug a snap trap around with it. I guess it tried to get away and was partially caught by the trap. I have had no issues with The DoomBox. Every day there are two or three mice in the traps. The only con, and this is not a deal breaker, is that it was hard for me to open the plastic containers. I'm am placing an order for 3 more so I can place more in other locations.
