At first, I thought it was just a mattress cover over the top until I discovered you put the entire mattress inside and zip it close. I was a little frustrated, but I love it. I wanted a plastic bedcover for our move to a new home. I didn't want one that would be too thin and tear in the move but I also didn't want to pay a lot for a durable one since my husband doesn't like to sleep on mattresses covered in plastic. This cover was perfect. Strong enough for the move and not over priced so I didn't feel bad when we got to the new house and he took it off. This cover would would be great for a child's bed as it would take a lot to tear it.
