Product details
9781162562070. New condition. Trade paperback. Language: English. Pages: 404. Trade paperback (US). Glued binding. 404 p. Contains: Unspecified. ""The Porch and the Middle Chamber: BOOK OF THE LODGE"" by Albert Pike is a comprehensive guide to the rituals and symbolism of Freemasonry. The book is divided into two parts, with the first part focusing on the history and philosophy of the craft, while the second part delves into the practical aspects of lodge organization and ritual.Pike's writing is highly regarded within the Masonic community, and ""The Porch and the Middle Chamber"" is considered one of his most important works. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the symbolism of the apron, the meaning of the three degrees of initiation, and the significance of the Masonic altar.Throughout the book, Pike emphasizes the importance of moral and spiritual development, and he argues that Freemasonry provides a path to personal growth and enlightenment. His writing is clear and accessible, making ""The Porch and the Middle Chamber"" an essential resource for anyone interested in the history and philosophy of Freemasonry. If you're a Thirty-second Degree Mason you may THINK that you've received all the Scottish Rite degrees, but chances are you haven't. Why? Unknown to most people, Albert Pike also wrote Scottish Rite rituals for the three Blue Lodge Degrees. In Pike's words, these Scottish Rite Blue Lodge rituals were to be studied and understood before investiture with the fourth degree. For, without it, the system of that Rite is incomplete, and even like a fabric without foundation. This rare reprint includes the, openings, closings and rituals of the Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason degrees according to the Pike workings of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. More importantly it contains the complete SECRET WORK. These rituals are MUCH MORE ESOTERIC and differ significantly from the Webb-form (York Rite) Blue Lodge rituals commonly used in the United States, and the book has several interesting illustrations (including Hiram's jewel a talisman!). Also included is the Table Lodge ceremony. Highly recommended. Very scarce! This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
