Clifford Meleson is also known as Qrstuv Wxyz (Christopher Wicksies) or Timothy Buck the Second (Tim Buck Two). He was born in England in 1938 and lived through World War II as a child. He used to sleep in an air raid shelter when the bombs were coming down. There was bomb damage close by but, thank goodness, no direct hits. He came to America in 1957 at the age of 19, planning to be an airplane designer. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1961 (and didn't try to escape to Canada), so he's a veteran. After the army, he worked for Douglas Aircraft briefly as a draftsman, but instead of designing airplanes for a living, he wound up spending many years as a mainframe computer systems programmer (at UCLA, Scientific Data Systems, Home Savings, and then Twentieth Century Fox). He was married for twenty-five years (he and his ex-wife are still friends), and has two daughters, one of whom has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UCLA and now works for the US Navy. The other daughter is a writer in Hollywood. He designed and built his own house in West LA (with his own hands-no contractor). He owned and flew a small airplane (kept at Santa Monica airport) just for the fun of it. He also flew gliders (which he learned to do in England as a Royal Air Force cadet). He started writing about twenty-five years ago (poems, essays, stories, screenplays, jokes, even drew cartoons). At first it was just to amuse himself and his friends, but he has recently decided to publish. Now you know everything!
