Hand block printed vegetable dye throw rug or mat. Very primitive appeal with drops of misplaced dye or smudges from the artists hands as he pressed his blocks to the fabric, forever leaving his trace. It does not get any closer to "handcraft" than this. Please note that print and dye imperfections are not to be considered defects but rather characteristics associated to the art of hand block printing, the oldest and slowest form of textile printing known to man. Made of 100% cotton and measures approx. 24 x 36 inches with 1.5 inch fringe on each end. Should be machine washed separately on cold/gentle and laid flat to dry. Lovely Dianthus Wheat print pattern in shades of indigo blue, crimson red and mustard on beige background. Truly a work of art which can only be achieved by human hand, make this throw rug or mat a treasure to own.
