It folds up and "hides" until you need it. Bathrooms, closets, kitchens, garage, patio,...I bought a bunch of these as gifts. It didn't help my 5ft reach to get to the highest shelf %26 well I needed to utilize those spaces. Very sturdy, easy to store under the sink for quick access.
