I almost didn't buy this after reading the negative reviews. I am glad I chanced it. One reviewer wasn't happy because it was damaged on arrival. That's a delivery service problem, not the product's. Mine came packed in a sturdy box. It was perfect. 2nd unhappy reviewer said there was no way to secure the trash bags. There are ledges on the top left %26 right sides %26 down the middle which securely and discretely keep the trash bags in place. Tips on putting it together: 1. READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST. I started joining it together straight out of the box %26 then had to spend 30 minutes dismantling it. It is well built and hard to dismantle. Follow the directions. 2. Once the unit is built, align the lid to it - front to front and back to back and then press down until you hear the back hinges snap into place. Voila! You have a stylish, varmint proof trash solution that fits flat against a wall or deck railing, is easy to clean and the top provides a flat surface for your cats to sunbathe on.
