Thinkers and Teachers of Modern Judaism

Although Judaism was spared the trauma of sectarianism and fragmentation that plagued Christianity and Islam, the last century has witnessed an emergence of several new Jewish religious trends of major significance, including Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist Judaism, as well as various neo-Orthodox and neo-Hasidic groups. The contributions to this book deal with the emergence of these Jewish religious forms within the past 150 years and the thinkers and teachers who influenced them.
