LOUDNESS: The 8180 is eight times louder than a telephone speaker because it has a high efficiency integrated amplifier and a tuned high grade loud speaker. The 8180 may be 20 times louder if the optional 1185 Horn Speaker is installed

AMBIENT NOISE COMPENSATION: SoundSure™ technology in the 8180 automatically adjusts the level of the loud ring and paging to compensate for background ambient noise. When the volume is adjusted, the ambient noise level is monitored and recorded if SoundSure™ is enabled.
