Its real wood and its solid once you get it together. The too pieces for the headboard and footboard were difficult to get on, had to use linger screws that i had. The instructions could be better. Other than that is awesome, no noise. I am very pleases.

Purchased this bed for my daughter and her hubby. They love it! It's well made and came expertly packaged. Took 2 hours for my son in law to assemble alone. (He builds yachts for a living so it was easy.) Average assembly better with 2 people 3 hours.
