Easy Steps 1. Collect: Put the sponge end of the collector in your mouth to collect oral fluid for 3-7 minutes until the saturation indicator turns RED. Make sure the saturated indicator turns RED when collecting oral fluid. It may take up to 7 minutes. Tilt the sponge downward when collecting oral fluid. (Gravity will help the sample collect faster!) Do not eat anything at least 10 minutes before testing. 2. Wait: Open the test cube and place the saturated oral fluid collector inside the test cube. 3. Read: Read the results at 5 minutes. Do not read the test results after 15 minutes. Reading Results Negative ( - ) Two Color bands appear in Control zone (C) and the appropriate Test zone (T) regardless of color intensity. It indicates that the concentration of the corresponding substance is zero or below the detection limit of the test. Preliminary Positive ( + ) Only one color band appears in the Control zone (C). No apparent band in the Test zone (T). It indicates a preliminary positive result for the substance of that specific test zone. Invalid No visible band at all or there is a visible band only in the Test zone (T). The test is invalid. Another test should be run to re-evaluate the specimen.
