Might rehab very old pair, but are far too tight

Review for the black fabric version though all fabrics could be the same. In a product video the rep suggests starting the zipper over the narrower plastic end. The cushion actually has more give, but I extended the band, started the zipper over the thin metal strip, zipping up only the first 1.5 inches (4cm), and then slid it over the plastic until about .75% of the plastic protruded. allowing the same amount of protrusion at the other end. The zipper tab can be tucked in, but there is less material all around on the sleeve I received then there was on the sleeve in the video and so the tab is only just adequately gripped, and remains mostly exposed. If I were installing this on a heavily used Audio-Technica ATH-M50, with a badly frayed headband cushion, then I might welcome the compression that this sleeve provides, but I am trying this sleeve on headphones that were unboxed just one week ago, intent on keeping them in like new condition. This sleeve won't do that. Since making the product video, they may have revised the fit in order to save on material, or they may have expanded materials choices without having effectively adapted the dimensions to each material choice. I suspect the former, and that every selection will be too tight. The fit is far too snug and the constant compression will degrade the quality of the OEM cushion and uncomfortably harden the fit on my head. They scrimped on material, made the sleeve far too tight and if you have headphones with an uncompressed girth of 3.5 inches (9mm) or more (ATH-M50 measure 3.9-4 inches (10cm), then these are not for you. If your girth is 3.5 inch, maybe they'd be perfect, and when less stretched, might hide the zipper tab, the way that they did in the product video. Sending them back
