Pliers that can't close flush? no way

I understand the need for the nylon tips, it's the wads of glue that were supposed to hold them on the pliers, which by the way, they fell off as i removed them from their package. I assumed spending a lil more i'd get better, i was wrong. not happy at all. loss of my $ photo below shows how much space is in between that shouldn't be, how am i going to use these with thin wire?
