I experience the abdominal pain associated with irritable bowel. I researched what I could take that you can buy without a prescription and I found peppermint oil capsules. I thought it couldn't hurt to try them. Well let me tell you it has decreased my abdominal pain by 90 percent. I just take 1. or 2 capsules 30 to 90 minutes before I eat and it decreases the abdominal discomfort I usually experience. The only problem I've found with it is if you have GERD you will have to remain upright after taking the capsules. Sometimes I have to weigh the side effects of reflux verses abdominal pain. So bewate of reflux if you have GERD.
