I put warm water in both the stainless yogurt maker and the jar. I followed the instructions about the temperatures and made vegan soy yogurt using coconut vegan yogurt as a starter and it worked beautifully. My only complaint is that I laid it horizontally to cool in the refrigerator and the jar leaked. I may just use a conventional canning lid in the future. Excellent product.
