I liked that it was a thicker mat than the ones I have had in the past. It has helped not only provide more tread on the steps but also provided comfort from the extreme sun my deck door gets. I have used the pads to go over the metal threshold, which was needed since it went out to my grandkids' little pool. I would buy it again.
