GE 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner for Medium Rooms up to 550 sq ft, White

We have a fairly open main floor and this unit does a great job at keeping the area cool. When we had first heat wave of the year the main floor was intolerable and now with this unit it is very comfortable. It is quiet as far as window units go. Easy set up. We haven't tried the dehumidifier feature yet but I'm confident that will work well too.

My window air conditioner died in the middle of a heat wave. I ended up purchasing three different portable units to try to replace it. All three were well known brands. This unit, by far, had the best fan strength of the three. It kept my bedroom very cool and overflowed to cool down the hallway. It was easy to set up and took up very little space. The hose length was sufficient to reach windows. The casters made it easy to move. These factors are important to me as I am an older adult who lives alone. The only issue I had was that the window sealing panel left a small gap on each side of the panel when closing my slider window. This was easily rectified by using the sealing foam included with the unit. It has a very average noise level. I was able to sleep with the fan speed on high. I was pleased with this unit and, of the three I purchased, it was the cheapest and best performing.
