The plastic is quite stiff; it is actually difficult to insert the strap end into the locking slot. The stiffness also makes attaching to the suction cup a bit awkward. HOWEVER, these are the only candle strap suction cup holders I could find for sale, and I'm glad to have them. Christmas Central had the most reasonable price too.
