The top has built-in closable inlets on both sides to securely run wires and tubing inside the terrarium and keeps small reptiles and feeder insects inside the terrarium. Absolutely love it. Perfect size for my area for our crested geckos. We did install padding to soften their falls; which they have used quite a bit. Assembly can be done without top loading the glass, but it takes three people. The screws were difficult to tighten with the tool provided due to the lack of leverage. Excellent quality.
