Bolts shorter than standard

I received replacement bolts for the drive axle of my 2001 BMW 325i. The bolts measured 3mm shorter than the stock bolts. This could be a problem, however they were the longest bolts sold so I bought them anyway, I had no real choice. Just be careful these bolts are supposed to be torqued to 200 ft. Lbs. and good tear the thread if not careful. Beware.
