This book is one of the most thorough, well written and best illustrated books Taunton Press has published in some time. Dennis gives comprehensive, step-by-step instructions with photographs on how to perfectly build seven different boxes. However, each is an independent project and one can proceed directly to the build in which he or she is interested without having made the previous boxes. Personally, I found Wooden Boxes providing detailed techniques and innovative approaches to a variety of wood working disciplines, including: veneering, edging, marquetry, carving, hinge and hardware installation, inside and outside finishing, and methods for cutting perfect joints in wood, plywood and veneer. Subjects in this book are not just limited to box making.
