Great for very shady lawns
I, have tried sod many times, but because my backyard is so shaded it has been impossible to grow. This works well. There is a learning curve though. Makes sure you water in the morning between 8-10 AM or you may get brown spot.

Dense Shade Grass Seed
Last year I removed all grass by herbicide and regraded a small yard along a shade timberline of my property. It needed dense shade grass seed so I bought this product. I did not let the lawn service use any weed products until this year but when I put the seed in September I used the recommended starter fertilizer another Scott's product. Nearly one year later it looks a lush green and beautiful bladed grass that I mow high due to very dry conditions 2023. My lawn service now does the full program of grub, weed and feed. Super curb appeal!
