Timeline (DVD)

I've read Crichton's "Timeline" several times and think it's his best. The movie follows the book fairly closely. Seeing the castles and the people in the movie helped me envision this great book better and appreciate it even more. Putting a long novel into a two-hour movie is difficult, but the creators of this one did an excellent job of it. I watched it three times in the first two days I had it. The plot is quite interesting. A corporation experimenting with a new technology to "fax" 3-D objects to other locations inadvertently discovers that the objects sent are going to 1357 France. Some people make the trip, and one, a professor of archaeology, becomes trapped there. Other members of his archaeological dig find his glasses and a 600-year-old note asking for help. They too make the trip to bring him back. The rest of the movie is filled with action, romance and history during the 100 Year War. If you like any of these, you'll enjoy the movie.

Love this movie. Lots of adventure, romance, intrigue, however , violent; but , considering most of it takes place during a war, to be expected. I have watched this movie over and over. There are so many elements to it and it is fast moving, I pick up on something new every time I see it.
