I ordered a size up in case I decide to do layers when weather is cold, like today. There is more than enough room for added layers. Even with out those added layers this NO hood ¼zip sweater is great. The pocket is a standard hoodie style, not two separate ones. Plenty of room to carry phone, wallet, keys, and a 16oz water bottle p!he gloves and or hat. Might look funny with all that stuff in there but you could still do it. This is my second one and it feels good and comfortable. I have plenty of hooded sweat shirts. They don't have that convenient zipper to get to my shirt pocket which is where I like to carry my wallet. The warmth of this is also a good factor. I can toss this on Over a regular short sleeve shirt and be just fine. If it is colder out I'll wear a long sleeve shirt then throw this on for the added warmth. Either way, it's about how YOU want to feel. I like wearing these when watching the tube. The "no hood" makes this way more comfortable to lay down on. No lump under your neck. O.k. The only thing I'm not to enthusiastic about, is the blue color. No points off. THIS blue is just a little brighter than I thought it would be. I think it will mellow out after a few washings. It is somewhere between royal blue and dark blue. This is why it looks brighter to me. Overall, Russell sweats are great. Been buying them for years. They tend to hold together rather well. This will be used for outdoor activities/work. So this poor thing will see abuse. Dirt,oil,grime,mud and grass. Probably even more than that. I work lawn care and custodial. This was just what I was looking for. Good thickness, nice fit. Needs washing before wear, it shedded black lent on my shirts until I did. No complaints.
