Flexrake LRB190 13' Fruit Picker

The pole is made out of strong fiberglass. Basket is attached with a hose clamp so that it can be removed and washed if needed. Works very well on medium to large fruit (apricots, peaches, apples, pears, plums) 6 feet to 10 feet out of reach. I don't see this being helpful for cherries that are out of reach as prongs are too far apart to securely "pluck" cherries. Extends to full length as stated. Telescopic pole is locked in place easily and securely. The further out it is extended , naturally, the more sway in the picker. I'm able to pick specific fruit without disturbing those fruit that need more time on the tree to perfectly ripen. Has worked best for me between 6 feet and 10 feet. Basket is wire (excellent gauge, solid) coated plastic, and has a foam pad in the basket bottom to help avoid fruit damage. I didn't bruise a single pear or apple this year. I avoided using a ladder on all the fruit trees this year. Seemed a little expensive to me at first for something I can remember that my Uncle had around his ranch and orchards for many years on a wooden pole when I was a child, but has been a great help by not letting any fruit go to waste because it is out of reach, and I anticipate many years of use from this one also. Worth the expense and great to know I can get to fruit everywhere on my trees without a ladder.
