This book contains some lessons he's learned and ideas he's had while learning how to do theatre in general and church theatre in particular. Some things have worked well - some have blown up in his face. You get "what to do" and "what not to do" in this book. He also provides some sample monologues, puppet scripts and live action scripts that can be used as performance pieces in beginning church theatre programs or as a resource for playwrights who want to write their own material. Jeff Craft has had a lot of experience in the unpaid theatre, having done community, school and church theatre work off and on since he was twelve. He is an actor, director and playwright and has, at times, done just about everything onstage or backstage except sell tickets.
