ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Matthew is a barrister at Twenty Essex with a broad commercial practice. Clients instruct him to advise or act in national and international litigation and arbitrations, with recent cases having had a particular focus on disputes concerning civil fraud, company law and insolvency, and shipping and commodities.

Matthew has first-hand experience of cyber fraud litigation in its various guises. He acted in CMOC v Persons Unknown and others [2018] EWHC 2230 (Comm), an action to trace and recover money stolen by cyber fraudsters, and notable as being the first-known occasion that a worldwide freezing injunction has been granted against 'persons unknown'.
