Starter lawn

I used a 1lb bag in a 200 sq ft area to start a new lawn. I hand broadcasted on April 8th. I watered frequently, maybe 3-5 times a day. Temperatures were between 80-90 for the firat month. Germination took a lot longer than i expected, but these are unhulled seeds and temperatures weren't always above 85 daily which is really the sweet spot for this seed. It started sprouting after ten days, and didn't fully finish germinating for about 30 days. If I could do it all over again, I would. It was cheap and looks great. I recommend you grow it to 2 inches before your first cut, then as the summer gets going, especially if its your dry season like it is here, push it to three inches. My lawn had a set back from heat stress because I cut it too short, its roots were undeveloped, and because I tried switching to once a day watering. Definitely would not have the same lawn if I didn't switch back to watering 3-5 times a day. I still do that on 100+ days without rain. Hopefully when August and September come and temps drop back down into the low 90s and 80s I can cut back on frequency. Thanks Scott's!!

Worked great, as expected

I used this to fill in areas in my backyard which had been badly damaged in large spots due to our home remodel. Blended well with my existing bermuda, plus seem more dense. Scotts has always been my go-to product for grass seed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
