Christian Berge har flere år bak seg som playmaker i tysk toppserie og klubben SG Flensburg Handewitt. Han fikk også 63 kamper med flagget på brystet. I 2008 ble han spillende hovedtrener i Elverum Håndball Herrer. Fra og med 2009 var han kun trener. Han førte Elverum til seriegull sesongen 2012/13, og gull i cupen sesongen 2011/12. Sommeren 2014 ble han ansatt som landslagstrener for Norges beste herrer på permanent basis.
