FireFold’s DP-MM is a DisplayPort Male to DisplayPort Male cable. DisplayPort is one connection that is rapidly gaining popularity. Its versatility and royalty-free usage make it appealing to modern device developers. Although it can transmit nearly any type of signal, it is often used to send video (and sometimes audio) from a laptop or desktop computer to a monitor. Capable of handling many of the same video standards as HDMI, this cable can support resolutions of 1080p at 120Hz. For higher-resolution monitors, it can also support 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz.

DisplayPort cables support simultaneous transmission of audio and video much like HDMI, but your source must be designed to output audio through the DisplayPort connection to enjoy this feature. The DisplayPort interface also supports hot plugging, which means you do not have to reboot your device for it to be recognized as connected. You may, however, have to change your audio settings to output through the correct port.
